Personal Growth Word of God reading plan

The Word of God – Day 21

Join us this January as we read the Bible together as a community! Enjoy reading the brief devotional, reflect on each passage of Scripture, spend a few moments in prayer/journaling, and interact with us through the comments. We pray that this is a meaningful time of spiritual growth and community building for our Breathe sisters!

Day 21:

God’s Word is our very life!
“The Word of God well understood and religiously obeyed is the shortest route to spiritual perfection. And we must not select a few favorite passages to the exclusion of others. Nothing less than a whole Bible can make a whole Christian.”
–A.W. Tozer

Deuteronomy 32:46-47

46 He added: “Take to heart all the words of warning I have given you today. Pass them on as a command to your children so they will obey every word of these instructions. 47 These instructions are not empty words—they are your life! By obeying them you will enjoy a long life in the land you will occupy when you cross the Jordan River.”

Deuteronomy 30:19-20

19 “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! 20 You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

Deuteronomy 4:1

1 “And now, Israel, listen carefully to these decrees and regulations that I am about to teach you. Obey them so that you may live, so you may enter and occupy the land that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, is giving you.

Psalms 27:1

1 The Lord is my light and my salvation—
so why should I be afraid?
The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger,
so why should I tremble?

The Bible teaches that Satan’s goal is to steal, kill, and destroy our lives, but that Jesus came so that we could experience LIFE, abundant life. How can you recognize God’s Word leading you toward life like these different Bible verses promise?
